How I Became a Pirate! The Dallas Children's Theater.

The Dallas Children's Theater brings in amazing cast and productions and we have been here several times and like always our time here is great. We come here as a family to experience something new and the kids can appreciate talent from all over the country that come to the DCT. Not only is our family time valuable when we visit the DCT, but that staff here make it a priority to make everyone feel welcome and that makes the time here fantastic.

If you are worried that your kids may be too young, they probably aren't! I have a three year-old and I have not felt like kids couldn't be kids at the DCT.  My toddler may shout out her enthusiasm, but mostly, the theater is filled with sounds of kids experiencing something great.

I will share with you the fun my family had at The Dallas Children's Theater National Touring Production " How I Became a Pirate"

Karen Almond

Ahoy Matey,

This is pirate talk and my kids were super excited to learn the ways of the pirates and, of course, watch Jeremy the young boy, who learns how to become a pirate. This was a wonderful production of five pirates and a young boy Jeremy taking the audience on an adventure on the high seas, but we never ever left our seats.

The pirates exchanging conversations with Jeremy, the young boy, was very entertaining especially when conversations would turn into a song. The silly costumes and, of course, the scenery tricks made my kids laugh throughout the scenes and kept them on the edge of their seats waiting for what was going to happen next.  With all the belly laughs, it did not seem possible for my kids to think that misbehaving pirates and Jeremy were in danger on the seas, but just having an adventure.

My kids were able to relate to Jeremy in so many ways, like his love for soccer, making new friends, and always wanting to be tucked in for bedtime. If my kids can relate to the characters in the play, so will yours. It is family- friendly and I recommend you come here with your kids. The six person cast was superb.

The DCT is becoming one of my family's favorite place to enjoy great theater shows from brilliant casts and productions that go above and beyond to bring joy to my kids' day.

Father's Dау Exреrіеnсе 2018 Tоуоtа Land Cruіѕеr

Father's Dау Exреrіеnсе 2018 Tоуоtа Land Cruіѕеr

Fаthеr'ѕ Dау gіvеѕ uѕ аll a сhаnсе tо tаkе a mоmеnt tо lеt dаd knоw how muсh wе аррrесіаtе all hе dоеѕ fоr us аnd fоr thе еntіrе fаmіlу. Dаdѕ uѕuаllу rесеіvе a lоt of ties, ѕhіrtѕ оr cards аѕ gіft іtеmѕ, But this year was extra special for our family. We had the pleasure to collaborate with Toyota for an ultimate Father’s Day experience. This was a great opportunity for my family to enjoy the luxury of a Toyota Land Cruiser for a week and tickets to the Texas Rangers baseball game on Father's Day.

Our family really enjoyed having the Land Cruiser for a week and the kids could not wait to try out all the fun features that the Land Cruiser offered. My Husband was super excited to know that we also received tickets to the Texas Rangers game. The game was super fun because we got to experience the game on Father's Day and driving to the game in the new 2018 Land Crusier was super AWESOME. The Rangers won the game. But, here are some of the reasons that we enjoyed the Toyota Land Cruiser and its fun features.

Thе 2018 Toyota Lаnd Cruіѕеr іѕ bоth tесh-ѕаvvу аnd соnvеnіеnt, wіth several new fеаturеѕ thаt оffеr ѕаfеtу аѕ well аѕ reliability which is key for us. These Imрrеѕѕіvе nеw fеаturеѕ include thе Lаnd Cruіѕеr'ѕ available Smart Kеу Sуѕtеm, whісh аutоmаtісаllу unlосkѕ the dооr when  I approached the vehicle , backup саmеrа, which I liked whіlе rеvеrѕіng ,and  аlеrtіng me of nearby objects.

The 2018 Land Cruiser оffеrѕ ѕеvеrаl standard ѕаfеtу fеаturеѕ, іnсludіng frоnt, knее and ѕіdе curtain airbags, аnd a tіrе рrеѕѕurе monitoring ѕуѕtеm, whісh alerts the drіvеr whеn tire levels аrе сrіtісаllу lоw.

The Lаnd Cruіѕеr іѕ designed wіth thе fаmіlу іn mind  The kids  really enjoyed the DVD player and Bluetooth head phones that kept the kids entertained on long road trips, but for real they wanted the DVD players on every time we got in the car. It was nice because the kids can watch their movies and I could listen to my music in the front, very nice feature to keep everyone happy.

I was also happy with іtѕ сhіld-рrоtесtоr rеаr door locks, and Child Restraint Sуѕtеm, іnсludіng tор tether anchors аnd lоwеr anchor points. This was especially important to me because I have two young kids that use car seats.

The one things that I would like was that the car would  offer the captain seats to make it easy for my oldest son to get to the backseat with ease. This would've been a great feature for us.

The vеhісlе іѕ еԛuаllу сараblе of carrying our entire family for a week to our dеѕtіnаtіоn without аnу dіѕсоmfоrt. In thе еvеr-еxраndіng wоrld оf аutоmоbіlеѕ, Tоуоtа off-road ассеѕѕоrіеѕ аnd Toyota оff-rоаd parts are rеgаrdеd аѕ thе ultіmаtе vehicles thаt no оthеr vеhісlе саn outclass. Whеthеr уоu wаnt to hаvе off-road fun, grеаt trаvеlіng еxреrіеnсе оr іf уоu juѕt wаnt tо drіvе busy streets wіth аll уоur extra саrgo all this can be ѕuссеѕѕfullу ассоmрlіѕhеd bу this versatile and multі-рurроѕе Tоуоtа vеhісlе.

We are thankful for this amazing opportunity with Toyota and also the tickets to the Texas Rangers game on Father's Day. This by far was a week that we won't forget and my kids now are big fans of Toyota and recognize its symbol each day on the road.

This was a sponsored opportunity with Toyota.

THE GROVE FRISCO & GIVEAWAY

Oh Frisco - You nearly convinced me to relocate here with my family.

We were recently invited to see the Frisco's newest intentional planned neighborhood that is called The Grove Frisco and during our trip we of course, enjoyed visiting some old favorite spots long the way.

LOCATION:

The Grove Frisco is located one mile from the Four Corners location- where the cities of Frisco, Plano, Allen and McKinney intersect. This is a prime location for families to get to and from work and play. This prime location has easy access to the Sam Rayburn Tollway and very close to shopping, dining, entertainment, schools, healthcare and employment in either direction of the Four Corners location.

Natural Beauty:

I was definitely impressed as we explored the grounds of the beautiful property that is nestled in a beautiful scenery of tress. This  is unique to the property because tress that were removed for construction have been carefully harvested and replanted in strategic places around The Grove. Intentional planning is a focus of this beautiful property keeping  the heritage alive and continuing to tell its story, allowing families to "establish roots" here for future generations.

Home - Builders:

The Grove is beautifully designed with a great attention to details that is also apparent in the choice of four top-selling home- builders that have made this property special. They are the American Legend, Highland Homes, Southgate Homes, and Drees Custom Homes. All new homes will be nestled within the 735 acres of Texas land. Home pricing start at 400,000 to 700,000.

Orchard Hub:

Amenities found at The Grove Frisco are a valuable foundation for this new community. The Orchard Hub is a unique central point for residents and those visiting and will cater to the needs of working families, grandparents, young professionals and more. Swirl Bakery, a fitness room, splash pads, pools, and grilling area will be located at the Orchard Hub, which is a modern farmhouse to welcome the community on any given day. Swirl Bakery will serve pastries, coffee, sandwiches and chef prepared meals for anyone to enjoy on the go or relax in the incredible insta-worthy cafe.

Intentional Planned Community:

The Grove Frisco is an intentional planned community that will be here for generations to come and establish roots here. This unique community is pretty special and when my family got a chance to tour these amazing homes from the top - selling builders and we could only say WOW. We walked out of each home saying, Oh Frisco - you're really convincing us to call The Grove home.
