Dallas Children's Theater - The Very Hungry Caterpillar Show-

Produced in association with Rockefeller Productions
Based on four Eric Carle books

On Monday the caterpillar ate through one apple, but he was still hungry. We are all familiar with the book called The Very Hungry Caterpillar by Eric Carle. This is one of the books that my kids like to read and some of the other well known books like The Artist Who Painted a Blue Horse and more.

We were invited to see the newest show to come to the Dallas Children's Theater called The Very Hungry Caterpillar. This is the newest show to run at the Dallas Children's Theater and it is one that is great for the whole family. What makes this an extra special show for Dallas is that we will be the first to experience the world of 75 larger-than-life puppets on stage. The puppeteer show is bright, shiny and beautiful by taking the stories we love from Eric Carle and displaying them in a majestic theater show.

What I really enjoyed is that we were entertained with life sized puppets under the control of an awesome cast with the reenactment from stories from four popular stories from the author Eric Carle. The Artist Who Painted a Blue Horse, Mister Seahorse, The Very Lonely Firefly, and of course the star of the show The Very Hungry Caterpillar. What a treat to see four amazing books transform and literally pop off the page and open up our imagination of what we can see and enjoy.

Plan some fun for your family and come dressed in your pajamas and 30 minutes before the show enjoy some arts and crafts and face painting. After my kids finished their artwork of the caterpillar I couldn't resist taking them over to the display of the cutest butterfly wings for a picture.

I am always looking for some entertainment that the whole family will enjoy and coming to the theater to watch a live show is like no other experience for kids. My kids really enjoyed it and even my 8 year old was laughing the whole show. We liked all the surprises that were unexpected and made it  more unique.

I also want to mention that DCT has made it a priority to be very inclusive by offering ASL and sensory-sensitve shows. These shows will be on specific dates.
