5 Camping Tips with Kids

We are a family that loves to camp! we've explored many State Parks and feel like we have a grasp on some key factors into a fun camping experience. I will just list my TOP 5 camping essentials!

1. Kids Backpacks-

Have your children carry there own camping gear. We bought them each a rolling backpack that they can use to pack gear. Of course I pack the clothes, but they are responsible in packing toys, games, and stuff animals. I like to give them the freedom of choosing what they like and they are happy with the choices they make.

2. Flashlights-

This is something that can easily be forgotten. trust me its happened to us once. We always make sure to grab head lamps for each one of us. Its the most convenient way to be hands free and still get things done in the dark. The kids really think its cool walking around the cap with head lamps and plaything with each other. The only thing is to not stare into each others face, because the lights will flash in your eyes. Otherwise its super fun and the kids love them. We bought ours from Walmart.

3. Tissue Paper-

This is a necessity. You need to pack this immediately in your car. Most parks have public restrooms and showers, Which is a plus. We love the fact that we can get a hot shower! But really bring toilet paper and baby wipes. This is a life saver because we all know how important it is to stay clean. I think you get the point. Moving on to number 4.

4. Watches-

Always, I repeat always bring a watch. I was recently sent a watch to review from Jord Wood Watches and I am glad that I did. This watch came in time. I didn't have a watch that was sturdy enough to take on my camping trip. I needed something that was nice but still have an edge to it. The watch that I received was the Fieldcrest Dark Sandalwood. A watch is something I find that is necessary for a outdoor trip. Most of the time there is no reception and you can loose track of time. We often forget that back in the days we relied on watches for everything especially time. And I vowed that I would put away my phone when we go camping. The point of camping is to disconnect from the world and spend that tine with your family. I just bring a DSLR camera to capture moments and memories and chill out in our camper and eat dutch oven food.

5. Map of the City-

Our Favorite part of camping is actually taking one afternoon to go and explore the city. This is the chance to see how others live and what they do and eat. This is fun to explore may mom and pops shops, vintage stores, and being around the locals. We like all of the things that the State of Texas offers my family. This State is so big that every city is different and the people are so warm and kind. So where ever you go camping take an afternoon break and go explore the small towns and grab a quick lunch at a local diner and just be open to trying new things.

Top 10 Picnic Parks in DFW

If you are like me then you are looking for parks to take the kids. I am always looking for parks that are north of the metroplex that my kids would love to explore.  I have asked my friend Jane Sohn Bearden a Dallas mom blogger what are her top 5 parks in North Texas. You will need to go to her page at for her top 5 list.

I will share will you my top 5 parks in DFW and I hope that you will get a chance and explore them as well.

1. Cottonwood Creek Park.

This is a park in Irving and has been one of my kids favorites. I really like that the playground area has many areas that the children can explore. This is one of the few parks in the metrroplex that offer handicap access to the playground, including the swings. This is a nice park for walking the trails as well.

2. Bachman Lake Park

If you kids are into planes this is a great park to watch them come into the Dallas Love Field Airport. This park has great picnic spot around the lake and the kids like feeding the ducks here. What i like about this park is the waling trail that goes around the park, its a great place to take bikes to go for a fun ride after your picnic.

3. Klyde Warren Park

You should have already known that this would male the list. This is a park that is in Downtown Dallas. This park has so many attractions that it truly is hard to list them all. They have food trucks, restaurants, reading area and playground. This is the short list and you would need to click the link for more information of events happening everyday. This is a fun park that you can literally spend all day here.

4. Prather Park.

Now this is a hidden gem in Dallas. This park is nestled in Highland Park with mature tress surrounding the park. Not only is it gorgeous, its perfect for picnics, family pictures and just relaxing under the tress. The kids just like the small intimate playground and the sweet little walking path as well. Take the time to walk the grounds after your picnic. We would usually grab donuts and a giant blanket and just chill and relax. You will like this park and this will be your hidden gem too. Shh

5. Founders' Plaza

This is the parks of all parks. This one is located in the North entrance of the Dallas Ft. Worth Airport. This park is really cool. There are interactive modules that the kids can learn about the DFW airport and how it all began here in Dallas/FT. Worth. The grounds is really big that all you would need is large picnic blanket and some burgers from In & out from the location in Grapevine. That's what we usually do with our family. Keep it fun and simple. I hope you can give this location a try.

When you are wanting a product to work you're a happy mom. I was looking for some products that I can use to keep my face look vibrant and youthful. I am in my 30's now and I feel like I need to pay more attention to my skin care routine. I often get asked what am I using on my face to make it look so bright. Honestly the first thing I do every morning is to drink a warm glass of lemon water. That routine has made me see a radiance in my skin and just look brighter.

I started using the Time Response skin line from AmorePacific and I have noticed that my skin looks rejuvenated. I am in the mind set that keeping up with my skin care in my 30's is key. This Time Response line typically geared to older women and I just think its never to early to start on good skin care.

I can tell that ingredients used make the difference in the way my skin look and feel. The Time Response line has Green tea stem cells, green tea EGCG, and green tea saponin combined into a powerful complex of ingredients. With these key ingredients studies have proven that it can reduce the signs of aging. I want that.

Thank You Debora at @mozdeb for the pictures.

* I was gifted these products for a honest review, all opinions are my own.
