Week of / July 28th - August 2 / Addsion-Dallas

Here comes the coolest weekend this month, and by cool I mean weather. It's time to kick back, relax and enjoy these relatively cool days while it lasts as we get closer to the end of summer.

Addison.

1. For an early afternoon adventure, take the whole family to the Nickel Mania Arcade in Carrollton. Admission is $1.95 for child/parent each. Bring $5 dollars and in return you will receive 100 nickles and win loads of tickets to exchange for prizes.

2. Take a ride down to the Village on the Parkway in Addison and grab a healthy lunch that the whole family will enjoy at Zoes KitchenThe menu has great healthy options, I would recommend the chicken kabobs, and anything off the kids menu will be a hit.
 * for added adventure, Whole Foods is behind the Zoes Kitchen. I recommend having either coconut Frozen Yogurt or any of the in house baked cookies. The varieties are limitless and the vegan chocolate chip cookie is a win.
 * This shopping center has a other great restaurants. So feel free to pick what you are in the mood for.

3. In the evening take your treats and blankets and go to the Beckert Park in Addison for Cinema in the Circle to watch the movie Night at the Museum Movies under the stars on the coolest night in July will be great.

Dallas.

1. Target First Saturdays from 10am - 5pm at the Nasher sculpture Center in downtown Dallas. This month's Big idea is "Collaboration". The Event is geared for the preschool and elementary age kids yet adults and teens can take in the awe of the statue gardens and tours that go on during the event. It will be an experience that everyone will enjoy. BTW its Free.

2. Take the 2 minute stroll down to the Klyde Warren Park and have lunch at any food truck that interests you. The Butcher's Son has awesome sliders(the mac-n-beefy) in combinations that will tickle anyone's taste buds. Ruthie's Food Truck has awesome  grill cheese sandwiches (ex: the turkey trot). To cool down, try some gourmet ice cream from the Cool Haus truck. Lunch and Desert #winning.

Bring a towel and a change of clothes for the young'ns because the splash pads are always tempting. Older teens will want to try out the table tennis, mini put put on the North side of the park and of course the array of magazines to choose from. A parents I.D will be needed as a collateral to rent out equipment for any of the outdoor games.

3. End the Night with some yummy yum tacos at Velvet Taco. This location is off Henderson Ave. The tacos are very flavorful and eating out on the patio is highly recommended. Take advantage of this opportunity to be adventurous with any thing on the menu or you can customize to your liking. It is an upbeat and chill atmosphere. Take a stroll down Henderson Ave. to check out some of the trendy boutiques and enjoy the cool evening stroll with the family.

*you can be adventurous and do the whole itenary or pick and choose what fits your family's interests.
