Week of / September 1- 7, 2014 / Ft. Worth

Whoop Whoop, Labor Day weekend has come and gone but we still can have a spectacular weekend. This weekend is jammed pack with great adventures in the West side of the Metro area. DFW has a lot to offer.

Southlake

September 5th-7th

1. The city of Southlake is hosting the Northeast Tarrant County Kiwanis 11th Annual Butterfly Festival. The whole family will enjoy the experience of being inside a 600 sq ft tent filled with the majestic butterfly's.

*there is a fee for admission for adult and child. Kids under 3 are free.

2. The Butterfly event will be held in the Southlake Town Square. For Lunch/Dinner, I would recommend going to the Corner Bakery for great sandwiches or salads. Go for some Tex-Mex at Mi Cocina where the taco's are very delicious. For a yummy dessert grab a slice of cheesecake at the Cheesecake Factory. The list is long to choose from, but there will never be a wrong choice.

Ft. Worth
Saturday

1. Explore the Ft. Worth scene this Saturday. The Riverside Arts District will be having a great outdoor event with live music, pop up art galleries, outdoor markets and more. One of the food vendor highlights will be the burgers from Greasy Bend Burgers.

2. After the RAD experience, you will want to try out MELT Ice Creams in Ft. Worth. This Creamery is a bright yellow brick building dishing out the most creative mixes of Ice Cream.

3. Star Party at the Ft. Worth Museum of Science and History. This is a great opportunity to gaze out in the night sky and look at the stars and planets.

have fun
